Cinderella ate my daughter trailer-
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rrSdqvTan9U
The movie trailer talks about how culture teaches young girls that the world is utopia and that it is important for them to be the fairest of them all and that young girls should want to be a princess stereotypically, rather than important things for example smart, competent and strong. However in reality being a princess isn't a norm in society, and most girls won't become a princess which will end up affecting their self-esteem, and as a result of our current culture self-esteem issues lead to serious illnesses such as depression and anorexia, as they feel like they are not good enough to become a princess.

The Simpsons/ Malibu Stacey

The short six second clip shows Lisa asking her doll whether she has anything relevant to say. The doll responds "don't ask me, i'm just a girl". The doll is wearing a short pink dress and red lipstick. The quote that the doll responds with, her dress codes and bodily adornments suggests the girl is not intellectual, and doesn't have a valid opinion in society, instead girls stereotypically only care about their physical appearence.

Power Rangers Advert
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHYG8wSRzq4
The advert for power rangers is clearly directing the cultural product to boys, as the children used in the advert to market the product are boys and there are not any girls shown in the advertisement playing with a power ranger toy. The advert shows power ranger figures fighting against eachother, all holding weapons, which is a cultural practice that boys stereotypically engage in rather than girls as a result of fighting and weapons having connotations of danger, and girls being seen in society as not being able to protect themselves against danger and having to rely on boys or men to protect them.

Bratz advert
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isZ3G9F2dx0
Just like the power rangers advert, there are gender stereotypes involved in the advertisement as the children playing with the news bratz dolls are girls, and there are no boys visible in the advert. The video shows girls doing makeovers on themselves and their dolls; doing eachothers hair and makeup. It says "How do you do the look that's totally you" which makes young girls think that it's right for them to wear makeup and value doing makeovers on dolls, and they should do this in order to fit in. The video stereotypes all girls to have a passion for fashion.

Emma Watson Feminist Quote

Emma watson makes a speech fighting for female rights of gender equality, and suggests that female rights are human rights, and that women should be treated the same as men.

Rape: It's your fault
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8hC0Ng_ajpY
The video talks about how some individuals refer to rape as a "woman's fault" due to the dress codes she decides to wear, as if she shows the slightest amount of skin she will be seen as being provocative. However in reality, women are still raped despite not wearing revealing clothes. They say that ladies that women get raped by working late into the night, and relate to the gender stereotype that women shouldn't work, they should sit at home and do the cooking, cleaning and talk on the phone and let men stick to working late as thats their job. They think that women should not go out late at night without a man to protect them, or they are asking to get raped, however if a female does go out with men at night by herself, she is still asking to be raped, therefore nothing a female does will ever be classified as right.
